DP station keeping events

IMCA has updated, since early 2015, the DP incident database pusblishing the collection of the voluntarily reported station keeping incidents from 2011 to 2015 (the last station keeping incident report 2010 was posted on 2012).

This last set of updates plays an important role in raising the standards of safe and efficient operations world-wide throughout the industry.

The reports are available at IMCA website and available to all members, while DP bulletins and safety flashes are free to download here:

We are very happy in seeing the efforts of our Association in promulgating such tools for the members and the DP community.

Furthermore the 2016 has been the year of the revision of the most of the key guidelines on DP, such as:

  • IMCA M 103 Rev. 2 Guidelines for the design and operation of dynamically positioned vessels April 2016
  • IMCA M 109 Rev. 2 A guide to DP-related documentation for DP vessels June 2016
  • IMCA M 206 Rev. 1 A guide to DP electrical power and control systems September 2016
  • IMCA M 117 Rev. 2 The training and experience of key DP personnel September 2016
  • IMCA M 149 Issue 10 Common marine inspection document July 2016
  • IMCA M 166 Rev. 1 Guidance on failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) April 2016
  • IMCA M 206 Rev. 1 A guide to DP electrical power and control systems September 2016

We look at the future of DP with more confidence.
